Vest Refashion

I like to refashion clothes, and being small gives me a lot of material to work with (no pun intended) because I nearly always buy things that are too big for me. I found a fantastic vest at the thrift store, and it was about one size too big for me.

 

So, I really wanted to wear this thing.  I took about 5 inches of fabric off (2.5 on each side: when the vest is laid out inside out, I measured 1.25 inches, because it was a double layer.) Make sense? Oh well, here's a picture.

The darker lines of thread are where I sewed it. I probably should have used a white thread - but whatever. Anyhoo, here's the vest after I downsized it.
